Smart infrastructure is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the UK, and veterans are uniquely positioned to lead in it.
As buildings get smarter and the demand for energy efficiency, automation, and sustainability skyrockets, companies like Honeywell are at the forefront. Their systems power everything from hospitals and universities to critical national infrastructure like airports and data centres.
This isn’t just engineering, it’s mission-critical, high-tech problem-solving. And that’s exactly why veterans thrive here. With backgrounds in mechanical and electrical systems, real-time decision-making, and structured teamwork, service leavers bring the precision, discipline, and adaptability this industry demands.
Honeywell gets that. That’s why they partnered with us to build a direct pathway for veterans into roles that make use of their existing skills, while offering training, structure, and long-term career growth.
Last year’s programme was a success so this year, we’re opening the doors even wider.
Why Honeywell?
Honeywell is a global tech leader in building the systems that keep buildings - and the people in them - safe, comfortable, and sustainable. With innovation at its core, it’s the kind of company where veterans don’t just land jobs, they grow lasting, impactful careers.
And the work? It’s tailor-made for military experience.
✅ Systems thinking
✅ Real-time problem-solving
✅ Commitment to quality and precision
✅ Leadership under pressure
"When I did my research into them [Honeywell], they're huge. It's all about sustainability and making things more efficient and innovative. And those were things that I really liked about it." – Mercedes, ex-Royal Navy
Real Results: Jack’s Journey
When Jack left the Royal Navy, he knew he wanted change, but not just any old job.
Through Redeployable, he discovered Honeywell, attended a veterans-only assessment centre, and landed a role as a BMS Engineer.
“We started by getting to know each other, the eight candidates, and then we were gradually introduced to the Honeywell team. The day was so well organised that by the afternoon, the interview didn’t even feel like an interview.”
Jack is now working in smart buildings, combining hands-on technical work with innovation and sustainability. Check out his full story here.
Mercedes’ Story: From Meteorology to Smart Infrastructure
Mercedes had a technical background but no formal IT or cyber security experience. She thought the industry was closed to her, until she connected with Redeployable. We showed her how her skills in aircraft engineering, systems analysis, and meteorology matched perfectly with Honeywell’s BMS roles.
“On paper, it’s a mixture of both my skill set and my expertise from previous jobs, and it has that tech element I wanted.”
Now she’s not just building a career, she’s contributing to a more sustainable, efficient world. Check out her full story here.
